Which dogs can benefit from a Control Unleashed group class?
Dogs that easily lose focus when training
Dogs that listen to their handlers but whose body language shows that they feel stressed (they yawn, lick their lips, scratch as a displacement behavior, doesn’t look directly at their handler)
Dogs that bark or pull and lunge at other dogs and objects they’re uncertain about but can be interrupted easily and quickly recover
Dogs that are mildly responsive to sudden environmental changes but recover quickly
If your dog is hyper vigilant and extremely responsive to environmental changes, has a very low arousal threshold or cannot easily and quickly recover from a stressful event, barks nonstop and pulls and lunges at other dogs or people forcefully, a Control Unleashed group class may not be appropriate for them. They can, however, still benefit from working using pattern games in a less stressful environment. If you believe that’s your dog, contact me to book private classes.
